The best part of teaching at the Glen Arbor Arts Center is the place and people. It is an inspiring landscape that you never want to leave. The community is welcoming. We make more friends every year. Our annual visits feel like coming home.
It is hard to remember when I started teaching at the Arts Center. I think my first summer teaching was 2009. I have taught every summer since. 15 years!
My friend from graduate school served as a Glen Arbor Arts Center Artist in Residence. He told me “You have to apply, you will love it there, and they will pick you.” I applied and he was right. I was awarded an Artist in Residence in 2008. I taught a painting demo as my Artist in Residence presentation.
My greatest success at the Arts Center are my student’s accomplishments. Artists I teach exhibit in group and solo shows, succeed in painting sales, participate in painting competitions, win awards, paint with joy, and share the love of art with others!
I support the Glen Arbor Arts Center because the Arts Center supports artists. The Glen Arbor Arts Center community has provided me and many other artists with opportunities to grow and succeed.
